Friday Feeling

Friday Feeling

This morning, the business humanist Sesil Pir posted the following message with the #FridayFeeling hashtag: #Awarenesshas no shape or color. It is beyond presence or absence, coming or going. Instead, there is a clear space of #Wonderand desire to know more. In the busyness of life, give yourself the gift of creativity.” The straight-named Solutions to Computer Problems uses the hashtag to tweet, “Time to kick back and enjoy the weekend. what are you listening to today?” while Sam Lawrence simply writes, “Party day. Send reinforcements!”

You get the idea. The Urban Dictionary defines Friday Feeling as “The feeling that something is about to change, like a weekend approaching.”

There are different permutations of Friday Feeling, ranging from relief through mellow relaxation to anticipation for exuberant celebrations. The emotional tone that’s held in common throughout all these different versions is the sensation of being able, after being trapped in a time of obligations, to finally follow one’s own inclinations.

Friday Feeling is a reminder that emotions can’t be fully captured in snapshots of still moments in time. They exist in time, in the journey from one sentiment to another.
